Fittingly, I submitted to a BDSM Anthology

Yes, as of last night, I have a horse in that race.. the race being a call for Lesbian BDSM Erotica for an anthology being edited by Sinclair Sexsmith.  So far I know of two others who’ve taking the plunge, Roxy and Wendi.  Following Wendi’s lead, I’ll post a wee teaser here.  We won’t know who’s made the cut until March 15th, the day after my 47th birthday.

I’m excited about finally getting to this point in my writing career.  Even though I don’t know if I’ll be published in this anthology, or Stalled, it was a great experience to work hard on both pieces and send them off to fly in the big bad world.  There’s definitely more of this in my future.  I want to try for more anthologies, and eventually write a complete work of my own.

A little taste of In the Dungeon with the Dom of My Dreams:

“Mmmm, my poor, poor boy”  She pushed the handle of her flogger between my legs, against my aching hole, and it was all I could do to control my hips.  I wanted to thrust myself onto that leather-wrapped hardness, cotton briefs and orgasm restriction be damned.  She chuckled knowingly and pulled back, enjoying the conflict playing out all over my body as my hips attempted to follow her.

Huge thanks to my family who gave me some time, here and there, to get both pieces done.  And for Roxy, eternal gratitude — with her encouragement, inspiration and editorial assistance, I produced two pieces of writing that I’m very proud of.  I also enjoyed assisting her with her work, enjoying the collaboration as much as I enjoy hot sex with her (and that’s set off an internal debate as to which is really the better way to interact.. but I’m gonna leave it alone).

Thank you, dear reader, for being patient with me through a relatively slow blogging period (hopefully, you’ve been patient and haven’t given up on me entirely).

It’s been so much fun editing with you. I agree – it rivals sex, although I’d like to do a LOT more of both before I make any permanent decisions. ;)

Your submission is gorgeous, sexy, fun to read and I can’t wait to work on another one together. Thank you for writing so beautifully about us. :)

  2. Congrats on getting the piece done and submitted on time! I thought about several themes and seriously considered extending a piece that I’d done originally as an MFM, which was about knife play…in the end I realized that I just don’t have enough experience with BDSM. Li and I play and role-play, but our experiences are very fluid and probably awfully light–doubtful they are close to what Sinclair is looking for. I’m going to hold out for an anthology that is closer to what I know and can write about with some sense of surety. Good luck!

It’s certainly important to find the right venue for your style of writing. Fortunately, for me, this call for submissions was perfect timing. Well, a little rushed, and I put off starting my piece until virtually the last minute. However, the theme definitely spoke to me.

Best of luck finding your venue in 2011 — K

Hi! I obviously got here from Roxy’s blog, but I’ve read a little bit on and off and I really enjoy your writing, fiction and otherwise.

Wishing you good luck on your submissions (in all forms)! ;-)
